Choosing Your Pure Ohio Maple Syrup

Grade A Maple Syrup: Golden Delicate
Grade A Golden Delicate maple syrup has a light to more pronounced golden color and a delicate or mild taste. For those who prefer a lighter colored maple syrup with a delicate or mild taste.
GOLDEN MICROWAVE CANDY
RECIPE FOR GOLDEN DELICATE SYRUP
Please note: For adults only to prepare due to handling boiling syrup!
Coat the upper inside edge of a deep pint or larger microwave safe bowl with butter (this will prevent the boiling syrup from escaping).
Put 1/2 cup syrup in bowl. Microwave on high 3-4 min.
Remove and stir constantly until it turns opaque and loses its shine. Optional: Add a tsp. of butter, nuts or peanut butter.
Quickly spoon onto wax paper to cool and harden. Store in an airtight container.
Grade A Maple Syrup: Amber Rich
Grade A Amber Rich pure maple syrup has a light amber color and a rich or full bodied taste. For those who prefer a full-bodied tasting syrup of medium taste intensity.
MAPLE CREAM PIE
RECIPE FOR AMBER RICH SYRUP
Combine 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2/3 cup Maple Syrup in a heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat stirring constantly until boiling. If not starting to thicken, boil an additional minute or two until it does.
Pour into pre-baked or graham cracker pie shell.
Refrigerate two or more hours.
Top with real whipped cream or whipped topping and sprinkle 1/4 cup toasted salted pecans or walnuts on top.
Grade A Maple Syrup: Dark Robust
Grade A Dark Robust pure maple syrup has a dark color and a more robust or stronger taste than syrup in lighter color classes. For those who prefer a dark colored syrup with substantial or robust taste.
MAPLE PECAN SQUARES
RECIPE FOR DARK ROBUST SYRUP
Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 cup flour in large bowl.
Mix and press into 8” x 12” baking dish.
Bake 5 min. at 350° F. Remove from oven
Mix together 2/3 cup brown sugar, 1 cup Maple Syrup, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup butter or margarine, 2 tsp flour, 2/3 cup nuts, 1/2 tsp vanilla.
Spread on top and return to oven.
Bake at 400° F for 4 min. then reduce to 350° F for 20 minutes.
